Founded in 1973, the department is currently headed by Doctor of Technical Sciences Professor Ilgiz Mirgalimovich Valeev.
The department’s research activity has the following tracks:
1) Diagnostics of high-voltage electronic equipment
2) Lightning-protection and protection from internal surges
3) Electric technology
4) Increasing the accuracy of measurements of currents and voltage at electric power plants
5) Increasing the reliability of the work of the equipment at electric power plants and substations
