INDUSTRIAL HEAT POWER ENGINEERING AND HEAT SUPPLY SYSTEMS
Formed in 2013, the department is headed by Doctor of Technical Sciences Professor Yuriy Vitalyevich Vankov.
The department’s students are divided into two groups. Those who study Industrial Heat Power study issues of production, distribution, and transport of heat power energy sources to consumers. Those who study Industrial Heat Power Installations and Systems of Supply study issues in the design of heat power systems.
The department has a computer-equipped laboratory that features programs in the field of heat supply, gas supply, ventilation, and air conditioning. It also has research laboratories focusing on thermo-physical measurements and modernization of heat exchange technology.
Graduates of the department have been hired the region’s leading energy-sector and engineering companies.
Since 2010 the department features an expert-analytical center in industrial safety.
Each year the department’s students take part in regional, national, and international scientific conferences, competitions, and exhibitions. The department’s students are regularly awarded grants and scholarships.
