ON OCTOBER 29, USA HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS STUDENTS CAME TO KSPEU
The students from the universities of California, Arizona and other states came to the Power Enegineering University to learn something new about Russia and its citizens.
At the meeting with our students they had a possibility to practice communicating in Russian. Many of them are students of Slavic, i.e. studying the Slavic languages.
At the beginning of the meeting the leaders of the American showed a minifilm «I CAN». The film was dedicated to the hard life of Indian students.
In response, the chief of the International Affairs Department G.T. Nezhmetdinova presented to the audience the film «WE CAN», from which the guests learned about all the achievements of science, industry, educational spheres in our republic! They were surprised with what they saw and learned.
After watching the film, many American visitors had their eyes opened to many things. They came to understand that the US media avoid giving publicity about the life in Russia.
After the original performance of a KSPEU student, who performed a Russian folk song, a well-known Russian political scientist, Doctor of Political Sciences, N.M. Muharyamov came on stage to address the guests in perfect English!
He briefly gave an accurate description of today's US and Russian relations, mentioning that, despite the sanctions, the United States and Russia continue cooperation in many spheres, including war industry.
Thus, the US still buys Russian weapons, among which there are helicopters produced at the Kazan Helicopter Plant!
Remembering the English proverb «Think local, make global», he suggested that young Americans and Russians should not lose touch with reality considering our relationship, noting that the future of the two countries is in the hands of young people!
Next, the students from different countries were divided into groups for more close communication.
